Last night at 5pm I received a text saying that I had a ticket to see Ellie Goulding at the Palladium. It will probably go down in my life’s history as the best text to ever be received on a Tuesday at 5pm.
I love Ellie but I’ve never been in a complete obsession phase with her. I know she is amazing (obviously) but I’ve never done the “deep listening while laying on the floor” through all of her albums.
That is about to change.
The show at the Palladium was one of the best vocal performances I’ve ever heard from an artist. Ever. She never missed a beat and sounded flawless throughout her entire hour and a half set. Besides her vocal, the show was just straight awesome. She banged on drums, wore a leather outfit that was kick ass, spoke in her adorable British accent and worked the stage like a little pro (I say little because she is teenie tiny in real life).
As I write this I’m still not over the performance. She was incredible. She sang from both the first and second albums but my favorites were Halcyon, Figure 8, JOY, Explosions, Your Song, Anything Could Happen and Lights.
This set list was pretty much what she followed minus a few deviations. I can now safely say I am in love with Ellie. She is a pure genius, her songs are incredible and her voice is insane. Ellie Goulding I’m shouting this through the internet, I LOVE YOU. Let’s hang out?
Watch her sing Explosions. I was mesmerized when she performed this one.
“Cause it’s simple darling, I gave you a warning. Now everything you own is falling from the sky in pieces.”
