This Weekend, I Was British. Basically.

Standard

I’ve said many times and I’ll say it again, I think I was actually supposed to be born half British. This weekend I followed through with what I said I was going to to do on Friday’s post and then some. 10 points for Sarah. I did all of my laundry, did the dishes, cleaned the entire apartment (including taking 5 bags of clothes to Goodwill), finished watching Scandal, made mugs, painted a new canvas and finished my book called Beautiful Ruins. It was beyond lovely.

Also, I’m pretty sure I drank my way through and entire pack of tea in 2 and a half days, hence the British thing.

I’m falling into another deep music phase. Neither are necessarily new because I’ve had phases with both of them before, but I’ve found myself falling into deep Amy Winehouse and Ellie Goulding phases (ALSO BOTH BRITISH I MEAN COME ON). I had Amy on all day Saturday while I was cleaning and doing things around the apartment (multiple dance parties commenced) and then Ellie on all day Sunday while I painted and made mugs (again multiple dance parties). I don’t even know what to say about these talented females. They’re lightyears apart in their sound and production styles but what links them together for me are their lyrics. They both have such powerful ways of telling their stories that make you want to listen again and again and again.

Here’s to another week of summer where we all count down the days until next weekend.

PS Beautiful Ruins was amazing. I highly recommend it.

PPS If you wanted to see it, here’s my painting from this weekend. I found the quote online while meaninglessly scrolling and fell in love with it. It has been added to The Wall which continues to expand with more and more pretty words.
