The Real “22” Music Video

I only wanted one thing for my birthday: to make a music video to the “22” record. I wanted to make a music video with real 20-somethings who are poor, happy, lost, fun, sad, tragic and embracing every moment. So with a little help from my friends, I did.

In my video, you won’t find us lounging around a Malibu mansion pool or throwing a giant house party at said mansion because really, what kind of real 20-something actually does that? Instead you’ll find us dancing, laughing and being free in my little apartment, at a Mexican restaurant, in a parking lot and everywhere in between.

Sorry Taylor, but I think we did it better.

Thank You

Today’s post is short and sweet. Half because what I’m about to say is straight forward and to the point, half because I write this as I am about to run out the door and leave for work. I usually write my posts the night before but last night I got caught up working on a craft project for this weekend. It’s amazing. Photos to come soon.

But all I really wanted to say today is thank you. Over the past week I’ve received a massive amount of birthday love. I don’t expect much for my birthdays because now as we are all older, everyone is so busy with work and home life and even live in other cities. But the fact that so many people went out of their way to give me a phone call or send me a card or surprise me at my apartment or take me out to dinner is unbelievably sweet and I am so thankful.

Tonight I’m having a big birthday dinner with my favorite girls. So if you see a mob of about 15 beautiful women out in LA with flower crowns and cat ears singing Taylor Swift’s “22” song—-it’s us.

Thank you to the wonderful people in my life who helped me celebrate this week. I love you I love you I love you.

Birthday Week Playlist

I really like making mixed CDs. Until Spotify and streaming and cars that have the adapters became a regular thing, I would make mixed CDs for all of my friends as presents. Ugh so cute right?

But those days are over. At least for other people. Not for me. Because my car doesn’t have the plug-in to let me play from my phone so I still make CDs and I love it.

In honor of Birthday Week I’ve made a birthday playlist. There isn’t really any rhyme or reason to it, it’s just a list of songs that I’m really into right now or I’ve loved for a long time or songs that are about being young and a 20-something or are just fun trashy pop songs to dance to. Basically Sarah’s Ultimate Have Fun playlist. Any suggestions are welcome. Enjoy.
